Pumaramuri - Sicilian Organic Tomato sauce
From the old heirloom tomato Pizzutello, unique for its intense red berry color, our organic tomato puree is born. Cultivated on a sunny hillside, using natural methods and without irrigation, this tomato is able to express all its best qualities. The Pizzutello tomato is known for its ability to be preserved for long periods of time. Our grandparents used to pick them during the hot summer months and hang them on twine, forming the famous “Pennule”, or cluster, which would keep and last through the winter months.
